My Story

I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and Independent Marriage and Family Therapist (IMFT) in the state of Ohio and Co-owner of Mindful Connections Counseling.

After graduating from John Carroll University with a bachelor's degree in sociology, I began my career in the mental health field as a case manager in Cleveland providing services in the community to adults with severe and persistent mental illnesses. I then obtained a master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Akron.

I have experience counseling a variety of clients in outpatient community mental health and private practice settings. My extensive training in couples and family therapy allows me to help clients repair and strengthen their relationships in a safe and nonjudgmental environment. I often work with individuals, couples, and families on problems related to communication, conflict resolution, infidelity, sexual issues, divorce and separation, coparenting, blended families, parenting issues, boundaries, life transitions, and stressful events. My goal is to help clients become aware of and change unhealthy relationship patterns in addition to treating mental health disorders such as anxiety and depression. I utilize techniques from a variety of different treatment models, but largely practice Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Structural Family Therapy. I have also been certified in trauma-focused CBT.
